It’s a good idea to get proper coverage for your work equipment at home.

I recently visited Undercurrent Coffee in Plaza Midwood with Mac from Goosehead Insurance. We grabbed coffee and talked about the ever-growing number of people now starting to work from home and how that prompts new types of insurance, like  business insurance for your home.

When you’re working from home, you should have business coverage for your business equipment, like your laptop, in the event of any theft or damage that occurs. When you’re buying a home, make sure you disclose that you plan on bringing in your business equipment and that you plan to work from home. It could cause a problem if you don’t disclose that from the beginning because the insurance company would have to know that your equipment was actually inside the home, in case you would ever make a claim on it. Contact your local insurance agency for more details.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you.
